I wish that Kinokuniya would come to Melbourne. Was in Sydney for the Christmas-Birthday-New Year week and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw Kinokuniya. All I had in Melbourne was Borders and I must say that they’re not exactly one of the best stocked book shops around. Ok, Borders is not really THAT bad. Not as bad as MPH back in Malaysia at least, but it doesn’t really take much to be better than MPH. What the hell does MPH stand for anyway? One would think that it is a bookstore specialising on Automobiles. What a stupid place.
Oh well, back to Kinokuniya. I loved the Kino in Kuala Lumpur. I haven’t set foot in a Kino store for 3 years now and it has been really difficult for me to find specialised books in Borders. Have had to order books online and all that but I personally like to browse through what I’m buying first as reference books cost quite a pretty penny. I swear I can spend my entire day in Kino and still have a book to buy everyday. Well stocked beyond my wildest literary wet dream. Mates around me have been spending lots of money on new shoes, bags and wallets but I’ve managed to hold out till I went to Kino and I spent lots of money on a pile of books. Now I’ve got to lug these heavy books back to Melbourne… Gah… I wish Kino would come to Melbourne.

Hi Justin
Glad you like our little store. Keep your fingers crossed for a Melbourne store, we would love you to visit daily.
